About Diambar Origins
Diambar Origins was an idea that came alive well after
spending a few months in Dakar, Senegal, and being in awe of all the markets
and the beautiful art one can find here. The goal was to sell this African art
in Europe. However, not wanting to limit ourselves to art, we kept it open and
set up a concept store where anything handmade in Africa and diaspora would be
presented. This is how we expanded from art and jewelry to accessories such as
handbags, the African beauty basics such as black soap, raw shea butter, and
waist beads, to making our candles here in Rotterdam. The goal for us is to visit more African countries and
to bring along what we find we have to share with you! So far, we have visited
Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau, more to follow soon. -
Quality
All products are handmade, we can only be in
conversation with our roots if human care is involved. All products may not be
identical or fitted into any standards since it is produced by hand. However,
the artisanal production of products resolute in extra care since every piece
had been given extra attention. -
Original
Our products are personally picked. Considering these
are handmade products, we might specifically design some, but most of the
products we found in several African local markets. Of course, all products are
from somewhere specific in Africa, so the country of origin is always
mentioned, considering Africa is not a country but a continent.
