Waitbead embelished with Conta d'odj pearls. 

These pearls are black with white dots and believed to protect one from negative energy, or "the evil eye". These pearls are largely used in Cape Verde, but can be found in Senegal as well. 

These waistbeads were handmade in Senegal. 

There are 2 options, with one conta d'odj, or with 3 conta d'odj pearls.
